Style Steal : Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall

Style Steal

Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix.

You can wear the same clothes & style as celebrities for an affordable price.

The first Style Steal is Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix.
I love this girl group and each one has their own unique fashion sense and they always look great. I decided to go with Jade Thirlwall's look from her appearance on The Riff. Simple, easy & cute.

You can also incorporate this look for the fall by adding some tights and a long sleeve shirt.
Jade's navy blue overall shorts come from Topshop & can be purchased here. Her gray top is also from Topshop and can be purchased here. For shoes, she went with these grey and white oxfords.

For my look, I went with black overall shorts from forever 21 & a grey top shop, which is also from forever 21. The overalls are much like Jade's except for the color and the buckles on the side. The top I'm wearing is a little darker than Jade's, cropped, but the sleeves are rolled up the same way. For shoes, I unfortunately don't own any grey or white oxfords, I decided to go with these black booties with silver zippers in the back from Steve Madden.

Jewelry, from the picture I can't really tell if she's wearing an elephant, a horse, or another type of animal, so I went with this really cute silver butterfly.

More style steals to come, leave me suggestions on who you want to see or more on this outfit.
I can do a look book on youtube for this look if wanted.

Comfy Fall Look.

Is it Fall Yet?

It's almost November and fall has started, but living in California the weather goes through mood swings.

Sometimes it'll feel like fall, being able to wear sweaters, beanies, and drinking hot chocolate. While other times, it feels like it's summer and you're dying because you're trying to wear fall clothing. Trust me, I've been there and done that.

The other day it started feeling like fall and as much as I didn't want to leave my bed, I had things to do. So comfy attire it was.

When wearing a casual outfit, don't be afraid to wear something printed. I decided to go with printed shoes to add a little something to my outfit.

Ripped Boyfriend Jeans: Forever 21.
Black Laced Top: Cotton On.
Black & White Cardigan: Forever 21
Cheetah Printed Shoes: Gift.

Fall is my favorite season for a ton of reasons, one of them being LIP COLORS! For make-up I decided to go with a smokey eye & for lips a purple velvet color from NYX.

Bare with me, I really didn't have time to take pictures or had someone to take pictures or record for me. Next post will be better, so I hope you bare with me!

Here's a quick video to see more of the outfit:

Love, Kennia.

A Girl At Home.

Hi, my name is Kennia (Ken-ya).
I wanted a cool name like "unicornsandglitter," but someone had the same thought.

This blog is named "citylightschic" & I will bring you fashion, ootd's, style steals, videos & look books.
Experimenting with outfits, coming out of my comfort zone and wearing things that I would never wear in the past because people's opinions would invade my head.

Why "citylightschic" you ask? One of my favorite songs is called, "City Lights" by Bridgit Mendler. She sings about "feeling lost" and feeling like an "outcast and a castaway." I use to feel this way and at certain times I still do. Everyone has "city lights" in them, your shine. Don't be afraid to be yourself, wear what you want, express yourself because all that matters is your happiness. There's this part in the song where she says, "Every time that you think you've lost your shine, just remember nothing's brighter, your city lights. Every time that you fade into the night, just remember your the fire, your city lights."

If you ever feel like you're not good enough, remember you are. If you ever feel like you can't pull a certain outfit off, try. Confidence is key, especially in wearing an outfit.

I  hope you enjoy this blog and my journey in clothes. I hope this helps you with some of your outfit choices or even gives you inspiration to wear something you've always wanted to wear, but were afraid to.
